Catena Zapata Wine

Nose:

Elegant and expressive — layers of blackcurrant, ripe plum, cassis, graphite, and cedar, with subtle notes of violet, tobacco leaf, and dark chocolate. Hints of dried herbs and spice reveal its Bordeaux inspiration with an Andean imprint.

Palate:

Medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced.

Angelica Zapata Cabernet Franc Alta offers a dark red ruby colour with light shades of violet. The nose is intense, packed with ripe red currant fruit laced with sweet spice and vanilla. On the palate, a sweet velvety attack leads to a wine of concentrated ripe red berries with a touch of eucalyptus and black pepper.

Family matriarch Angélica Zapata, a fierce educator and headmistress of the local country school, instilled a culture of study, hard work and reflection on generations of the Catena family.
